How to reach Allahabad

By Air :

Allahabad has its own airport : Allahabad Airport or Bamrauli Airport (IATA: IXD, ICAO: VIAL). It is at a distance of 12 km (7.5 miles) from Allahabad city and is operational for domestic flights. There is a single flight from New Delhi to Allahabad(AI 9605): Mon,Wed,Fri.(This flight but has been subject to cancellation many times in the past, and hence is advised only if other options are unfeasible)

By Rail :

Allahabad has four major railway stations viz. Allahabad Junction, Prayag Station, City Station at Rambagh and Daraganj Station. By rail, the city is connected to all major Indian cities such as Agra, Bareilly, Kolkata, Delhi, Aligarh, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jaipur etc. Many important trains pass through this station.All trains from the east going to southward pass through this station. Prayag (3 Kms) /Allahabad Junction (8 Kms) are the nearest rail heads. Allahabad Junction is on the main rail route so it is generally preferred.

By Road :

Buses operated by Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) connects Allahabad to all the major north Indian cities including Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Jhansi etc. Delhi is about 663.4 km (takes about 8 hrs, 50 mins). Lucknow is about 238 km (takes about 3 hrs, 40 mins). Varanasi is about 127 km (1 hr, 50 mins). Kolkata is about 887 km (takes about 12 hr).
